Engineering professionals, educators and policy makers joined representatives of IEEE-USA and IEEE-Central Texas Section for this compelling and timely forum, discussing some of the following issues and questions.How do advances in technology impact the worlds economies and cultures? Which policies should the U.S. adopt with regard to the globalization of technology? How do these shifts in policy shape the future of key technology sectors in Texas? This forum took place as scheduled on Friday, October 17 in Austin, Texas. "Globalization & Technology: A Dialogue on Policy Issues" was a one-day event that successfully fostered open discussion among government, academic and corporate leaders in a forum focused on the effect of globalization on public policy and technology.
